Husband And Wife Impress The Judges With 'Islands In The Stream' Blind Audition

You have to check out this impressive blind audition on The Voice of a husband-and-wife duo performing ‘Islands In The Stream.’

“Baby, when I met you there was peace unknown, I set out to get you with a fine tooth comb
I was soft inside, there was something going on, you do something to me that I can't explain
Hold me closer and I feel no pain, every beat of my heart, we got something going on”

The singers in this video are Katelyn and Derek Dryes, and they do a wonderful job performing ‘Islands in the Stream’ by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers during The Voice Blind Auditions. The couple met on a blind date 15 years ago and have been singing together for more than a decade. From blind date to blind audition on The Voice! How cute!

During their performance, both Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani turned their chairs around for Katelyn and Derek. And Gwen stated that it was cute that they both were married couples.

“I was in on Derek’s voice even before I knew you were a part of it because the arrangement of that song, just the first half of it, didn’t sound exactly what Kenny and Dolly did,” Blake Shelton told Katelyn. "Country music is all I’ve ever done. You hear me talking right now? I can’t help it. It’s what comes out of my mouth. So, I would be honored to be your coach.”

“That song would be my dream if Blake and I could do that song together one day,” Gwen Stefani shared. “What I love about you guys is you have so much character. You look like a cartoon character couple. I really like that. The mustache, the blue, and everything about that...I’m very visual, so I think it would be fun to work with you guys.”

Ultimately, the Dryes decided to choose Blake Shelton to be their coach on The Voice. We can’t wait to see what this duo does next!
