Hungry Dog Eats Thousands Of Dollars In Cash
A 7-year-old Goldendoodle enjoyed an expensive meal, as the animal ingested $4,000 in cash.
Pet owners and animal lovers would and do go to great lengths for their precious pets. As anyone privileged enough to have had a pet knows, they are near and dear to our hearts, quickly becoming family members.
Also, most pet owners understand animals are adventurous eaters and will eat nearly anything. There isn’t much they won’t eat or at least try to consume. The wide array of items an animal will scarf down apparently includes money. Carrie and Clayton Law learned this the hard way when their loyal and loving canine ate $4,000 in cash.
When Cecil, their 7-year-old Goldendoodle, found the stack of cash on the kitchen table, the animal helped himself to the pricey meal.
“I was like, ‘He ate the money! He ate the $4,000,’’’ Clayton said.
The money was supposed to go toward a fence in the couple’s yard.
Most would be dejected after discovering that such a sizable chunk of money was gone. But then something started happening, leading the couple to believe the money may not be completely gone.
Cecil started vomiting, and Clayton made a startling discovery. He found pieces of 50 and 100-dollar bills in the animal's throw-up.
The Laws were able to find even more money after Cecil went outside and did his business.
Carrie said, in the clip posted on YouTube, that they were able to recover “a little over 3,500 dollars.”
“We got back way more than we were expecting,” Carrie added.
The bank was able to work with the couple and replaced most but not all of the destroyed bills.
Carrie said the people at the bank told her that this type of situation occurs more than you might anticipate.
“Money goes through so many restaurants, and it touches so many hands, and it just acquires all these smells,” Carrie said. “And so dogs really like the smell of money.”
Moral of the story: your money isn’t even safe around your loyal, loving dog!
Proverbs 12:10 “An upright man has thought for the life of his beast, but the hearts of evildoers are cruel.”
