Man Sings 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ To Rescued Donkey Cuddled On His Lap

A man sings ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ to a rescued baby donkey cuddled in his lap. We don’t know much about the little gal in Dean Fagan’s lap but we do know this little lady by the name of Ivy is living her best life in Dean and Dawn’s donkey sanctuary.

In this viral TikTok clip, Dean can be seen sitting in a chair and cuddling a newly rescued donkey Ivy in his lap. As he provides all the comfort a child would want, he strokes her mane and begins to softly sing one of our favorite childhood songs, ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow.’ The best part is when he comes to the chorus line and changes the lyrics just for his sweet new friend, “Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high. There's a donkey land that I heard of. Once in a lullaby.”

Ivy is in absolute heaven. She adores Dean, and she is soaking up every bit of love he is giving her. It is so sweet and adorable to watch.

When Dean and Dawn became empty nesters, they wanted to dedicate their free time to something that truly mattered. It all started with their first rescue named Mister Donker Donks they brought to their 67-acre farm in Ohio. They fell in love with Mister Donker Donks and started a sanctuary for donkeys. They currently have seven more.

They treat their donkeys like a beloved member of the family. When most people think of animal rescue, they think of dogs or cats, perhaps even a bird rescue. I doubt anyone would think of farm animals. What’s more, is how Dean and Dawn truly treat their rescue donkeys like a member of the family. They spend as much time as they can with them to get them socialized. Praise God for compassionate individuals like Dean and Dawn. When God created the world, he gave us the responsibility to take care of it–all animals included. This is a precious example of heeding God’s word.
