Tim Conway is ‘Bunny Lawyer’ in Classic Carol Burnett Show Clip

It has been said that comedy is more difficult than drama to pull off. Comedy is so subjective. What one person feels is funny will not be the same for the next person. However, two people who were able to put together one hilarious moment after another consistently were Carol Burnett and Tim Conway.

In this YouTube clip from the classic Carol Burnett Show, Carol, who plays Mrs. Clevenger, storms into a law office. She’s in hysterics and in desperate need of a lawyer to represent her as she’s been charged with the murder of her late husband.

The first lawyer she encounters basically blows her off and remarks that he’s way too busy for her case. However, he does recommend another of the firm’s lawyers: F. Lee Bunny.

Carol’s character enters Mr. Bunny’s office and to her surprise, F. Lee Bunny is an actual bunny played by the incomparable Tim Conway.

Tim dons massive rabbit ears, a rabbit nose, whiskers and paws on both his hands and feet.

As you can expect, things go from odd to hilarious in a matter of moments.

Carol’s character, who is stunned by her weird situation, begins by asking Conway’s bunny character about his life and legal qualifications.

She even makes a comment about the situation around the 3:40 mark in the clip.

“I’m sitting here talking to a rabbit about his family,” she says

This conservation happens as Tim hops around his office and munches on his office’s plants and even Carol’s hat.

Amazingly, throughout the skit’s more than 6-and-a-half-minute runtime, neither Tim nor Carol laughs or breaks character.

The skit is yet another example of weird, absurdist and laugh-out-loud comedy from two masters of the craft: Tim Conway and Carol Burnett.

Psalm 126:2 “Then our mouths were full of laughing, and our tongues gave a glad cry; they said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’”
