A Dark Day in the Forest of Ephraim

King David's family life was very modern and very disfunctional. His impressive son Absalom grew up to hate his father, and it wasn't long before he tried to remove his father from the throne by killing him. But Absalom's rebellion was foolish, and brought consequences that he never envisioned. See how God punished this obstinate and rebellious son, and learn from David's mournful words the appropriate limits to a parent's grief. This sermon was preached by Pastor MacLaren at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, PA, on August 31, 2008. Based on our series of messages on "The Life and Witness of King David," this is a message you will want to share with your friends. First Presbyterian Church is located at the corner of Fifth and Race Streets. Our Sunday Worship Services begin at 9:30 AM, and all are welcome to attend. For more information, see www.firstchurch.com.
