Tim Tebow On Living A Life Of Significance Versus Success
Tim knows what it’s like to be at the top. He knows what success feels like but that’s not his focus. Instead of letting being a football star and being a household name go to his head, Tim turns to God.
In his football career, he’s the all-star quarterback who led his team to victory time and again. He remembers moments of walking into a stadium and encountering thousands of people holding up signs with his name or wearing his number. He recalls, “Dang! I’m something. They’re here for me. I must be somebody.” But he refuses to let pride rule in his heart or let fame get to his head because he wants to honor God.
He wants to use his success for God’s kingdom because he believes we ought to be living lives of significance instead of success. He says, “The greatest tragedy in life is one day we’re going to look back on our lives and realize we were successful in the things that didn’t matter.”
Because success is just about you but significance is about other people and he truly believes success is great but it’s not as fulfilling as significance. He adds, “God wants you to be successful. But more than anything, God wants you to understand your significance. And when you live for Jesus and you love people, I believe you have a life of significance.”
Tim wants you to ask yourself, “What’s my calling? What’s my purpose?” as you are on your journey of success to significance. Share this video with someone who needs some inspiration!
“Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.” Luke 17:33
