Mother Sings 'Blessed Assurance' Hymn To Baby Boy

It’s a beautiful moment of love and worship as this mother sings the classic hymn ‘Blessed Assurance’ to her baby boy. This hymn was written in 1873 by Fanny Crosby with music by Phoebe Knapp. The story began when Phoebe was visiting Fanny’s house one day and she played her a tune on the piano. Phoebe asked Fanny what it sounded like and Fanny immediately replied, ‘Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine!’ They continued to finish the composition and create the hymn that we all know and love today. “Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine; Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood." Lindsay Kirkland is one half of the talented singing duo, Sounds Like Reign. For years, Lindsay, and her husband Brackin, have been using their God-given talent to give praise to His Name. But today’s performance is extra special because their baby boy makes an appearance. Just watch as Lindsay holds the sweet child in her lap and sings him the words of ‘Blessed Assurance.’ “This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long.” It is our job as parents and grandparents to help teach our children about the Lord. And this moment of worship is the perfect way to praise His Name and show the children what God’s love is all about. Mark 10:27 “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”

This can create a low-level hum of anxiety if the upcoming family get-togethers feel like a risky walk through a minefield.
