Why did I write these books?
As often is the case, they're the sort of books that I like to read...
It seems to me that as Christians we often have two distinct attitudes to children's stories. Either we treat the hugely-popular (and usually secular, even anti-religious) as sources for mining useful and positive themes. Or we simply support Christian books for children (that aren't read by anybody else outside the church...).
I wanted to create a tale that had distinctive and intentional christian themes, a story with definite spiritual ideas, but which would also happily be read by people outside faith communities. A cross-over trilogy in other words - and also in the sense that it could be enjoyed by children and parents.
Enjoy!
