Christian singer-songwriter, Rachel Renee started writing music when a lifetime struggle with fear and depression brought her to her knees. She sought for years to find peace, joy, and hope but found only discouragement, raging fear, insecurities, doubt, lack of self-worth, eating disorders and suicidal thoughts. Even during her pain, she graduated with a vocal performance degree from Point Loma University in 2000, setting the stage for her to use her gifts in the future to write music for God; which began her healing. Her eyes became unveiled as she read the scriptures. God delivered her from her fear as she cried out to Him for deliverance. Then she wrote her first song based out of Isaiah 43:1-3
"...“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior..."
We all fear something; we all have a deep seated desire to have peace in our souls. Rachel uses her music to touch the broken, the needy, but also the thankful heart, drawing them in to the throne room of God, revealing His attributes and promises. Some songs are testimonial while others portray surrender, trusting, waiting, remembering, believing in the Almighty God. Others simply lift high the name of Christ and His work on the cross. Rachel desires that woman, with their fleshly insecurities, constant comparisons with others, fear, and discouragement, would draw nearer to Christ, experiencing His deep love and divine purpose for their lives. She is passionate about reminding woman who they are in Christ; adopted, chosen, a vessel, ambassador, disciple, and child of the King!
