Pure Flix Entertainment released the movie God’s Not Dead March 21, 2014. Josh Wheaton (played by Shane Harper) is a freshman in college who has signed up to take a philosophy class by Professor Jeffrey Radisson (played by Kevin Sorbo). Professor Radisson is adamant that God is dead and he doesn’t have to teach about God if everyone in the class signs a waiver. Josh is torn about what to do and feels that God is calling him to challenge the professor. I had the opportunity to see God’s Not Dead in theaters and it is powerful! There is a debate on college campuses on whether God exists and this movie highlights how Christians may feel alone while standing firm in their beliefs.
Here are ten awesome quotes from God’s Not Dead:
What Professor Raddison tried to be was completely unfair. Threatening to fail Josh for his beliefs and changing the course work was wrong. Stand strong and speak with someone if you are in this type of situation.
God is good all the time regardless of what is happening. An overwhelming problem will suddenly seem smaller and manageable when you see that God is in it with you.
You should examine your relationship if your boyfriend or girlfriend is challenging you in ways where God is leading you.
Dating someone who works to discourage you and tear you down will keep you from becoming who God has created you to become. Look for a spouse who loves you unconditionally even after they know your weaknesses and mistakes.
It’s easy to fall into comparing what you are doing to what everyone else is doing. God has you in a unique position. The seemingly small acts of kindness are immeasurable in God’s eyes. Learn to be content where you are and know that God does not measure your worth by what you do. Give Him your full heart and He will fulfill your desires.
Sometimes the hardest challenge God brings us is choosing to follow Him when your family and those closest are against you. Don’t back down in the midst of the struggle!
The small voice telling you what to do is God pursuing you and trying to guide you in the direction that you need to go. He is all knowing and will never lead you into a situation to desert you.
Everything is temporary, but it can be challenging not to get wrapped up in the stress, struggle and comparisons. Letting God raise you up is far more fulfilling than building things and being connected with the “right” people.
You can’t measure a person’s worth by how trouble-free their life has been. Everyone sins, regardless of the fallout and consequences.
This is the shortest quote and my favorite one! God is apparent all over and you will be amazed at how He works when you become quiet and let Him speak.
