Vocal Training for Praise Singers: A Comprehensive Guide for Worship Vocalists

For singers called to lead others into God’s presence, vocal excellence is more than technique, it’s stewardship. In Vocal Training for Praise Singers, author, voice professor, and worship leader coach Julie Alice Kinscheck offers an all-in-one training manual designed specifically for those using their voices in worship settings.

This thoughtfully crafted resource equips singers at every level to develop healthy, reliable, and expressive voices while keeping spiritual purpose at the forefront. Whether used by worship leaders, choir directors, or individual vocalists, the book serves as both a practical guide and a devotional companion.

An All-In-One Vocal Resource for Worship Ministry

Vocal Training for Praise Singers includes 85 targeted vocal exercises that can be used for:

  • Leading or practicing vocal warm-ups

  • Developing solid vocal technique

  • Maintaining long-term vocal health

  • Preparing to lead worship with confidence and clarity

Each exercise is supported by Scripture and scientific research, making the book uniquely positioned at the intersection of faith, pedagogy, and practical application. Kinscheck understands the demands placed on worship singers—often required to sing frequently, emotionally, and without proper training—and she addresses those challenges with wisdom born of experience.

As Professor Emeritus Kenneth Bozeman notes:

“Here you will find a humble, open, personal, vulnerable, experience-informed guide to all things having to do with leading or participating in contemporary worship.”

What sets this book apart is its balance of technical rigor and spiritual insight. Kinscheck writes not only as a trained pedagogue but as someone who has walked through the pressures, burnout, and refinement that often accompany ministry leadership.

Evangelist and Worship Pastor Dave Eastman describes the book as:

“An almost encyclopedic guide to everything pertaining to vocal excellence… providing everything that one needs to advance vocally—and spiritually—in both church and secular settings.”

Her approach affirms that worship leaders are not just musicians but ministers—and that caring for the voice is part of honoring the calling God has given.
