It’s kind of a bold statement for a pastor to make, don’t you think? No more church. No more Sunday School, collection of offerings, choir, sermons. . . . No more church??!!! Crazy! But these provocative words aren’t just coming from some crazy pastor who loves change. These words are coming from God! If He doesn’t want us to do church, what does He want? He wants us to BE church!

O.K., that is the message from God: be the church! Now we need to work out some practical “application” of this message.

Assignment:
Please take a few minutes and discuss the application of this lesson with a small group of those around you. Then have one of the group share with the rest of us the most significant thought you came up with!

• Confession time: how have you been guilty of “doing” church instead of “being” church?

• Investigation time: what are some needs that God might want me/us to help meet as His church right here, right now?

• Commitment time: here is what I am going to do this week to BE the church.
