I'm going to share this song with family and friends who still to this day haven't forgiven benjamin v.For he was the one who killed my brother almost 15 years ago.He was a drunk driver.Who was trying 2 kill himself because of his girlfriend breaking up with him.But court date found out he was married with 3 kids.It took a while 4 me to forgive him.But I did do a bible called Boundaries.Right after that was over. my church had a revival that was life changing.Because on that day I found myself forgiving him.I never thought I'd ever be able to forgive him 4 taken my big brother from me.I thank GOD 4 helping me do that. And for the power of Forgiveness.Because God has forgiven us 4 all of our short comings.

Forgiveness... such a simple concept yet so incredibly difficult to live out at times. I am struggling through a bunch of hurts. Each time I think I've forgiven, something happens to show me I haven't. Matthew West does a brilliant job with this song and touches on the key issues. The only answer? FORGIVENESS!

We can forgive Baby Girl, but we as humans never FORGET!

Michelle: I've been thinking about you and this post most of the morning. I'm by no means an expert on grief, nor have I lost a child, but I do know this: the right thing is to forgive and reconcile. Jesus preached that. It's so incredibly easy to be angry and hold onto that anger. I could understand how bitter and angry you feel toward seeing the girl who was responsible for taking Brandon's life go on and try to make a new one. Do you HONESTLY think she doesn't wake up and think about what she's done?? She'll always have that guilt. But--she knows that YOU'VE forgiven her. That's pretty powerful. More reconciliation and less anger. I believe that's what Brandon would want, too .I continue to ask God to bless you and help you move forward. I love you, Michelle.

His girlfriend was driving and I have keep her out of jail, because I feel it wasn't her fault. But I still struggle everyday with it! She's now going on with her live and has a boyfriend after not even two years. Its hard for me to see her go on with her life when his none! I feel bitter sometimes and I just pray that God will take that away!

Matthew West - Thank you for sharing something that was so personal to me. I, in my womaness, struggle with forgiveness sometimes, but know it is the right thing to do even when I do not want to because of the hurt. The Lord has forgiven us so many times who are we to not follow His lead. If He can forgive so should we. We afterall are made in His image and we should mirror His ways. Renee's story is so inspiring and such a lesson for us all to hold on to for years to come. I am so glad the Lord gave her strength to overcome such a tremendous tragedy in her life. Renee is such a great inspiring example of how we all should strive to be. Thank you for sharing and telling her story. This song is wonderful!

I am bless to have experienced the power of forgiveness. I know that there are many more girls in fostercare that need God to guide and reveal to them what this really means. That it may be the opposite of how you feel, that it may be the last thing you think of doing, that it may hurt to have to rethink the past you just want to leave untouched, but it is the best thing you possibly could do to free yourself from the prison of the past. Pray about it. It is important.

There will be many disagreements with what I have to say. But someone sent this to many and I don't understand it. I understand how hard it is to forgive, but why is this associated with God? The God who was so weak, that he could not forgive several times until he finally sacrifices a body that could easily be recreated of a person who only dies for three days, ten comes back to life and lives in eternal paradise. I would easily go through 100 times worse than the suffering of Jesus for a guaranteed eternal paradise. This was not a sacrifice and God is not good. He punished people for centuries before finally creating a loophole in a system he made. That loophole was that you could break his laws, but you have to pray for forgiveness and have faith in him. Faith is not a virtue. Faith requires you to believe things without evidence. God would choose gullibility over intelligence. The one unforgivable sin is to question his existence with the mind he gave us. And when we do, we are sent to hell for it. God has caused far more pain and suffering and has caused Christians to believe he is good. Christians speak of love and forgiveness, but not of rape and slavery. They no longer believe in these words of God, in spite of God. We don't need God's forgiveness for creating such a terrible system, he needs our forgiveness, for it is his creations that he has greatly wronged.

The bible says:Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult but with Blessings...Truely a great song!

Matthew West - wow! We have a little boy (12) with special needs. We teach him that God/Jesus are, and, always will be number 1. There are four very important words that are rules in our house, Love, Forgiveness, Respect and Kindness. Your song helps strengthen the learning towards Forgiveness. I had the honor of meeting Renee recently and to me it was like meeting royalty. She is someone I admire and look up to. Thank you for writing and singing such a powerful song. My husband and I just finished watching the movie Courageous and love that song as well. May God keep you well, safe and continue to use your gift.
