Tim Hawkins on Worship Music

Very funny!

Tim is an entertainer and we see how so many self righteous people here have judged him as if they themselves were God. God has a sense of humour, Jesus danced, so get over it and have a chuckle all in good fun but at the same time remembering that if we bring one lost soul to the Kingdom of Heaven the angels will rejoice and God is pleased! Get over yourselves! Some people here need to wake up and read their Bible. The Bible is truth and let us not judge others but give thanks to the Lord always.

I'm not sure why my comments keep disappearing, but I commented earlier that when Jesus talks about the speck and plank in people's eyes in Matthew 7:3-5 - many experts believe it to be him interjecting humor. The Bible also teaches that God is love and laughter is like a medicine. I think Jesus did laugh and tell jokes - he spoke in parables which was a way a communicating with others in a simple format to bring ease to the audience. He did not mock God, he is God. I also don't think Tim Hawkin's is mocking God. He is interjecting humor and using a song to do so.

Is this a church service? Very improper indeed!!! I thought it was a stand up comedy show...

  • 2012-11-13T15:46:14

Lighten up, people. Comedy is not a sin. There is no mockery of God is his stand up, only church related themes because we also deserve to have fun. We can't go to secular stand up comedian shows having to endure their foul language and obscene behaviour. Some people here are to quick to condemn, folks...

You guys need to get a life! The Bible says, "A merry heart does good like a medicine". Tim Hawkins is using his God-given gift to bring a little joy into people's lives. Church as we have always known it is about to change drastically. Tired old traditions and stuffy, dead churches with no life and no real heart for worship will soon become empty shells of what they once were. I'll take Tim Hawkins every day over some boring theologian who has forgotten how to laugh! Get real people! God is not impressed with your "seriousness" all the time. There is a time for being serious, and a time for laughter! I hope the Holy Spirit gets on you guys and you laugh like a hyena in church...so much that the ushers will escort you out! Now that will be funny! Peace!

Some might be offended so sorry if you are.

  • 2012-11-13T15:40:12

Oh please people. God has a sense of humor. The man is making fun of us not God.

  • 2012-11-13T15:39:20

This is not supposed to be worship. It's comedy!

Many theologians believe that Matthew 7:3-5 is an example of Jesus using humor to make a point. The whole idea of a speck in the eye compared to a log sticking out of an eye is thought to be him using extremes in a lightened way. Since the written word often does not include emotion, it's difficult to extrapolate Jesus' demeanor is several passages. We know that he was happy and encouraged others to be happy. We also know that God is Love and laughter is like a medicine so I do think Jesus cracked jokes, laughed and had fun. I don't think he made light of God, but I also don't think this video does either. You may be looking at it all wrong in the first place. Don't be too quick to point of the specks in everyone''s eyes when there may be a log in yours. =)

I don't like Led Zeppelin..probably because of my ex lol...didn't especially like it..but love Tim Hawkins and I'm sure his heart is to give humor..don't we need that right now?

What a total waste of time and energy - this guy is NOT funny - this is blasphemy and Our Sovereign, Almighty Holy God is NOT mocked. Hawkins will one day have to stand before God and answer for these crazy antics. I am not a prude and certainly not old or old fashioned but this is going much too far. Sad now many people found it entertaining.

So it might be outer court worship and not inner court worship, in a true sense possibly a non joyful noise.

  • 2012-11-13T15:24:47

It would be more worshipful if he sang a new song and perhaps a song in the spirit, we don't have to be far out to be in the spirit.

  • 2012-11-13T15:21:54

My focus is always having a very healthy respect for God. There are many out there preaching a watered down version of salvation. Narrow is the gate. We have to be 100% committed to Christ body, spirit and soul. No second place no compromise. never compromise the way of salvation it is no joke and it will lead many straight to hell. Where do you see Jesus cracking jokes and making light of God?

man...talk about getting your panties in a ruffle...lol. Some of you all need to relax! I can guarantee that Tim Hawkins reaches more people for Christ through his ministry than any of us.....but yet we sit here and judge him and call him a sinner and say he is going to hell??? WOW....reminds me of the pharisees that Christ talked about....talk about legalism.....
