Tim Hawkins on Worship Music

Some might be offended so sorry if you are.

  • 2012-11-13T15:40:12

Oh please people. God has a sense of humor. The man is making fun of us not God.

  • 2012-11-13T15:39:20

This is not supposed to be worship. It's comedy!

  • 2012-11-13T15:34:27

Many theologians believe that Matthew 7:3-5 is an example of Jesus using humor to make a point. The whole idea of a speck in the eye compared to a log sticking out of an eye is thought to be him using extremes in a lightened way. Since the written word often does not include emotion, it's difficult to extrapolate Jesus' demeanor is several passages. We know that he was happy and encouraged others to be happy. We also know that God is Love and laughter is like a medicine so I do think Jesus cracked jokes, laughed and had fun. I don't think he made light of God, but I also don't think this video does either. You may be looking at it all wrong in the first place. Don't be too quick to point of the specks in everyone''s eyes when there may be a log in yours. =)

I don't like Led Zeppelin..probably because of my ex lol...didn't especially like it..but love Tim Hawkins and I'm sure his heart is to give humor..don't we need that right now?

What a total waste of time and energy - this guy is NOT funny - this is blasphemy and Our Sovereign, Almighty Holy God is NOT mocked. Hawkins will one day have to stand before God and answer for these crazy antics. I am not a prude and certainly not old or old fashioned but this is going much too far. Sad now many people found it entertaining.

So it might be outer court worship and not inner court worship, in a true sense possibly a non joyful noise.

  • 2012-11-13T15:24:47

It would be more worshipful if he sang a new song and perhaps a song in the spirit, we don't have to be far out to be in the spirit.

  • 2012-11-13T15:21:54

My focus is always having a very healthy respect for God. There are many out there preaching a watered down version of salvation. Narrow is the gate. We have to be 100% committed to Christ body, spirit and soul. No second place no compromise. never compromise the way of salvation it is no joke and it will lead many straight to hell. Where do you see Jesus cracking jokes and making light of God?

  • 2012-11-13T15:18:15 about getting your panties in a Some of you all need to relax! I can guarantee that Tim Hawkins reaches more people for Christ through his ministry than any of us.....but yet we sit here and judge him and call him a sinner and say he is going to hell??? WOW....reminds me of the pharisees that Christ talked about legalism.....

  • 2012-11-13T15:17:38

It seems someone erased my previous comment... This is not mockery of God, if it is mockery of anything (which I don't think it is) it is at best the mockery of a song. God is much bigger than any song we can write or words we can use to describe Him. I really don't think He cares at all that Tim Hawkins found a humorous way to sing this song. It's no different than what Mark Lowery used to do. I think He is more concerned with our hearts and whether or not we are reaching out to the lost in Love. If anything is saddening Him, it is probably seeing his children attack one another instead of teaching others to embrace His love. That's my opinion anyway.

This video is disgusting. This here is godless tube, not Godtube.

  • 2012-11-13T15:14:05

Google him and watch more of his stuff. You might change your mind when you see his softer side.

  • 2012-11-13T15:11:25

Justice, I believe my Bible says, "The way to the father is through His son, Jesus Christ". It says, "....whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life", so on and so on. Show me in the Bible where it says that they will go to hell for having a sense of humor? As a youth pastor, I can show you many places where it talks about judging....and when we as Christians start to JUDGE whether a person is saved or not, then you are starting to step on a slippery slope. Be careful with that....only God knows a person's heart and whether they accepted him as Lord and Savior. And to others, let's be careful using God's word out of context. Use it for what it was meant for, not what YOU want it to mean.....hermeneutics please.....

  • 2012-11-13T15:09:44

To me God is not to be made light of or speak in a joking or mocking sense. It is always so very important to have fear and reverence for the creator of all things. HE IS GOD! I could not watch the whole video. God is not a side show or a focus of humor!

I invite you to listen to Casting Crowns and see if your opinion changes. These contemporary CHRISTIANS are bringing teens to Christ, pure and simple. I know from expirence.
