I agree with Gabriel. I believe because God cannot look on any sin, just for that brief moment in time, He had to turn away from His own Son. Christ carried the past, present, & future sins of the WORLD with Him to Calvary. Think about that for a moment. Thank God for Jesus!

Jesus on the cross was carrying the sins of the hold world before His time, during His time and beyond His time as human. God hates sin and once the sins of the world was on Christ, God could not look at that spectacle. The time to fully put sin at where it should be had not come, but when after three days, He had put the devil to where he should be, God accepted Him ay His (God's) right hand side.

I think our Lord Jesus Christ spoke the words, "My God My God, why have you forsaken me?" is for one very simple that we will never say those words again!

I believe Jesus was in a Human form at the time he spoke the words, My God My God, why have you forsaken me! I believe it also shows US Sinners, why god allowed his only son " Jesus" to die on the cross for our sins and to give us a chance for everlasting life! Jesus made the way for us and took our place on the cross! he also said, before he died, father forgive them, for they no not what they do! and when the Roman Soldiers pierce his side, Jesus hung, bled and died! How Sad, But I am Surly Grateful:-) Thank you Jesus!

The Aramaic says for this I was spared. He felt forsaken but that was the human feeling. We know that even in sin God does not forsake us. He felt like David and that is a type of prophecy called ebatic prophecy. Having a similar experience. I agree here that the reason was him taking on our sin. Good clip. Zech.12:10 in some form Yahweh who became the Son in the incarnation, Isa.63:8-10 having come himself he was on that cross in the human form of Yahshua Jesus.

This dolt is clueless... Jesus quoted from Psalm 22 which prophesied the Passion. He probably continued the Psalm in silence. Read the Psalm in full and you will see that Jesus did not think that His Father had given up on him but rather showed confidence in the Father despite immense suffering.

I'm a deaf Christian and I'd love to hear what he said on 'em videos and understand why Jesus Christ our Savior had said that but there are no close captioned on 'em videos so I had to move on, looking for another Christian videos that have CC. It'd be blessed from the Almighty God if a CC appear on all Christian videos. God bless

I am convinced that Christ was showing his knowledge of the scriptures and His complete obedience to being that part of Gods plan. Back then they did not have books, Chapters and Verses to reference Scripture by but rather quoted familiar first lines as a reference. If he had wanted the crowd to think on Psalms 23, he would have said "The Lord is my Shephard". I am dismayed by attempts to bring the Christ down to our level by suggesting he was having a little pity party because he was in great pain. Halleluja for the Cross!

As gruelling as the death method of crucifixion is, the physical pain has not been the worst for our Lord Jesus. As the infinite God, Jesus must have gone through for us something beyond we humans could ever discover, no matter how the pain and feeling of despair from desertion resembles. Maybe that's why He carries His scars for all eternity. Maybe we will find about Him for all eternity, from this moment and onward.
