Casting Crowns - Just Another Birthday

The world is full of this, we are raising two grandchildren because their parents can't stay away from drugs or alcohol, or a parent just doesn't care enough to give his or her child the attention they need. But we have a heavenly Father that never fails us, that's the grace of it all! Thank you Father!

I can't ever get the GODtube video's to play. Anyone else have that issue?

What are the chances of a dead beat Dad watching a God-Tube video? Perhaps, if you know of someone who could benefit from this video, you could forward it to them. You just never know. It may be Gods way of sending a message to their heart.

The Life is better.

My thoughts exactly....I love CC but this one is tough for me to like. God is father to the fatherless, but not in a way that a child would understand. Children need a strong male presence in their lives to guide them.

As an abstinence educator for more than 25 years, this made me cry. We are raising our (great)granddaughter and this is so true. She is our (adopted) son's daughter and I pray this is not her and we can stop the cycle.

I had this situation but the reverse. My mom was the one who wasn't there. You know you never forget the fact that they don't care enough about there own children to at least want to know how you are, but God always cares. Everyday He wants an update on your life and he cares how you feel. His love is more than enough.

Just Alicia-I can't agree more with how amazing are the ways God can speak to us these days if we'll only listen. It can be from opening His Word. It can happen in a song. It can be in a sermon. It can be from someone telling you about their situation and how they handled it. It can simply be from a feeling deep down inside. Whichever way it is, He is there and will speak if we will only listen. With respect to your situation, I cannot imagine what you have been through in your life. I will say that I am so happy (even though I do not know you personally) that you have continued to lean on God through your experiences. I would encourage you to look to Him to help you put the past in the past. Stop asking yourself the "what if" questions that often come from guilt, regret, and frustration. Instead, focus on what is ahead of you in your life. God can and will do amazing things in your life. You cannot change the past, but you can live the present and build a future that will be fulfilling and a blessing to you, your family, and everyone around you while bringing glory to Him. May God bless you richly! Thanks for sharing.

It looks like another daughter without a father in HER life...

I love the way God still speaks to us today. I have been sitting at my computer for the last hour unable to focus on work. I married too young. I started a family too early. When I was pregnant with my second child, ten months after having my first one I contemplated having an abortion. My strict Catholic upbringing hovered over my head but I had set goals for myself in life and two children would set me back a long way. I actually got as far as making the appointment at the clinic and I took my mother with me because my husband was at work that day. She sat there and said to me " what if its a girl?" because I already had a son. Those words made me get right up and leave that clinic. I had my daughter who is now 31 years of age. After three children my husband left us and I started looking for love in all the wrong places. Seven children later, almost 50 I question so many of my choices in life now. I started the day with a " well if I had not done that, this would not have happened " frame of mind today. This song was sent to my inbox this morning since I suscribe to GodTube. Thank you Jesus for reminding me that we made it this far. I have 7 great kids and 6 beautiful grandchildren and there were no mistakes in life. God has always provided. God will always provide. God is ever faithful. Thank You Casting Crowns and Jesus Christ for that beautiful reminder.

Dads, this is why it's so important to be a part of your children's life.

Forgiveness is not just for the person we are forgiving...The Lord wants us to be free from the hurt and many times the hate that is in our hearts from unforgiveness. I know...because my dad left when I was 11....and I hated him for years for not taking me with him. Praise God...I forgave him...and am now 53 and have shared the past 30 years loving him...long distance....different states...but telephones are a wondrous invention ;-). My prayer for you is that you forgive him and ask for the Lord to reveal Himself to the both of you through your new relationship. Take as much time as you need...set your boundaries...take the cautions that you need to protect your heart and your safety. Surround your endeavor with prayer....and God will bless you....I promise.
