Robert Roop Yes Robert, You are correct. We are suppose to live in the World ,but not of it. However Jesus was not self-righteous. He reached out to sinners where-ever they lived. I don't see a problem with trying to witness to people in a way that is familiar to them. GOD Bless You

Jesus chose me I did not choose him.

We are called to love one another, as our LORD & Savior Christ Jesus did.

Every good gift is a gift from God. Music is a gift from God and yes, the folks who are in the world do not realize where the gift came from. This is beautiful.

Robert Roop - LEGALISM! The reference to filthy rags, is (according to my studies, and many commentators), is about man trying to 'DO' something to merit Salvation. It has nothing to do with what you said, and Salvation is by grace through Faith, NOT OF WORKS, lest any should boast. If you are a believer Rob, why 'divide', why such cold hearted 'bashing' of a man using his talents to edify the saints? We are under a new covenant, Christ fulfilled the law, (which was given as a school-master, and if in thought, u broke 1, you broke them all), HE was the only one who could. HE died in your' place, took your' punishment & mine, and made the way so simple.....Jn14:6 'HE' is the way, the truth, and the life, and HE came so that we could have life more abundantly. You are listening to the wrong teachers lad, God uses ALL THINGS, (Rom 8:28), & we are to LOVE not attack, and correct our' brothers' & sisters? I am not perfect, just forgiven, and humility, is where it's at bro. You may have somehow thought you were 'correcting' robert, but there is nothing to correct. BTW, Joseph is right in his definition of the rags. Gotta go , God Bless you all!

you Robert..are why many don't want to know JEsus

Really? If you say your a Christian then yes I will hold other Christians accountable to their actions. How ever filthy rags was how self righteousness is described in the bible. not my words brother but Gods. And then slandering my name....think it says something about that also in the bible. And no you can not take something of the world and use it to glorify God with it. That is in the bible too. Sorry you feel condemned, that wasnt my point. My point was to correct not condemn if you feel condemned then that could possibly be the self righteousness rising up within.

Jeremie Thomas - filthy rags is not what you say it is either. It is in reference to our efforts towards earning salvation. So in the sense that that makes us equally depraved, then yeah, you are right on. Mr. poop's comment about taking a secular song is not at all what filthy rags is about. After salvation, God created us to do good works so Mr. Poop is wrong again as he seems stuck at the cross wallowing in self-pity with no "abundant life" - not at all in the grace that Christ provided for us! We are God's workmanship and Tim Hawkins' use of a secular melody is a perfect example of such! That is why I get so worked up over people like Robert who attack in the name of Christ. He is so far from Jesus it is quite sad!

Robert Poop - you sir are acting like a pharisee. You attack that which is good and pretend like you are righteous. Drink your own medicine and keep your negativity to yourself. Just like Jesus takes the aforementioned filthy rags and gives them new life - a new creation - (RIGHT?) - He can take a secular tune and make it new; full of new meaning. How as a Christian can you knock someone's testimony? Your attack is one of the many examples of what is wrong in the church. Jesus only attacked pharisees not the sinners. He came to bring new life which is Good News! And you turn on your brethren . . . I pray God snaps you out of it REAL quick!

If u ever want to know what is really going on read Romans it explains the plan action and result of god sending his son to die for our sins, he wants to be christ-like. I think u are missing the point with this, it has to do with the fact of taking something that is of this world and being or transforming from it and that is the beauty of his testimony how Jesus has saved him and thru the blood of christ he has freed this man. The " Filithy rags " is a metaphor on the fact that we are no better than anyone man or women nor should we judge anyone because we are all equall

You ever read the bible? If s then you know your own righteousness is nothing more than filthy rags, and if you look up the Hebrew for it it will lead you to what I posted before. God also called us out to be separate from the world. I can keep going but I hope you get the picture brother.
