Dear Ellen, first of all, I am neither upset nor mad; I truly love to talk about Gods Word. If we love Him we will love truth. We have all been wrong at times and the Holy Spirit which is our teacher will point out our faults and misunderstanding through and with the Word, God also uses teacher and fellow brothers in Christ in love to point out our misunderstandings and faults. That doesn’t mean it is always going to feel good. This video is not about evangelism but about judging. I would be glad to talk about evangelism separately. 1 Corinthians 5 is a great place to start for the topic of judging. It says we are not to judge those outside the body of Christ, which is very clear. Now if we see a brother or sister in Christ in sin then we are to first examine ourselves and to remove the sin in our lives. (Why is it so important to remove sin from our lives? Sin hinders the Holy Spirit which is the one that bring about conviction. We as followers of Christ cannot bring about conviction and if we try it becomes condemnation.) Then we go privately to that person and if they deny or reject the correction then you take another brother with wisdom with you and try to bring repentance with the word of God in love. If they continue in that life style or sin then you break fellowship with that person until they come to repentance. Also understand if someone is in sin and they are looking for help it is our job and duty to them as a brother to help, to guide, to protect and to pray with them through their struggles. If we have gotten comfortable to the darkness and someone shines a bright light in our eyes, will we not recoil from the light? The longer someone stays in darkness the harder it is for them to except the light. The walk of faith gets messy. Thank God for His word and to those that teach and preach the truth.

I'd like to believe that this is a process and reminder that we as Christians must remain mindful of. When we make a decision to give our lives to Christ, it can be too easy to "just think that everyone should be at the same place at the same time", but we must also be mindful that "Christ died for me when I was IN MY SIN". And if Christianity is Love, then a legalistic or judgemental attitude does little to bring the lost back to the flock. Yes, sometimes we are "quieted" by nonbelievers, but we must also be vigilent in being the Messengers of Hope to others, and each and every one of us will have opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. It is somewhat like a person thinking that they must be physically fit BEFORE going to the gym! Our Unity as Christians is certainly contingent upon the strengthening of one another; the accountability and Love we are to Give and Receive. To Everyone of The World, Christ Loves You; Christ Gave Himself for YOU.

Why is it that the church shoots its wounded when it's supposed to be a place to seek treatment for the wounds received from combating the world.

I just wanted to say this video to me isn't something to fight over that is the evil one who cause that. This video was showing the reason why many don't attend church because they where run off by people who thought they where better then they were will i can say is God the father don't see it that way he love you and me the same God bless us all i know i dealt with rejection as child and i thank God i found the church i belong in. God bless you all in Jesus name

All I can say is it isn't the churches job to judge no one the church is to be like Christ not like the world. We see in this video why many don't want to attend church. Like I say it only takes a few bad apples to destroy a bunch. why can't we be one in the body of Christ. People the way I learn it was the church was where sinners went to find the lord. God sure you can tell your return is near. people if your church is turning away sinners I wouldn't want to go to it I don't see God in it. God bless us and help the people of the churches to see what the true church is for in Jesus name amen.

Susan Moss Jenkins: Judgement begins in the house of the Lord and we are called to work out our own salvation with fear and trepidation. I agree that we have a responsibility for how we live and what we do. But we should judge the sin not the sinner. The greatest gift of all is love and love covers a multitute of sins. I think in some cases people do not like straight talking. We cannot condone since as is said above. Jesus did not hesitate to speak directly and firmly, but he never ceased loving us. As you rightfully mentioned grace and love and forgiveness - the only difference between us and the sinner is that we are SAVED BY GRACE AND GRACE ALONE and we can never take one ounce of credit for it. It is a free gift we ought to share. Then there is MERCY ... THIS WE OUGHT TO HAVE IN OODLES WITHOUT CONDONING SIN. Love you all you amazing family in Christ Jesus. Be Blessed! Elzabeth Meakings

En el cielo no habrá personas buenas, sólo personas perdonadas.

  • 2011-12-02T17:22:09

This is what John 3:16-17 and John 4:1-42 is all about! The church had better be listening or be prepared for God's JUDGEMENT against the church!

  • 2011-12-02T17:02:16

Also.... so many misquote the Bible and say that it says "not to judge"... in Matthew 7:1. Many do not read this in context with the next verses: "1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. So the Word of God does not tell us to NEVER judge, for this would be the epitamy of a liberal world condoning everyone's behaivor. But it tell us to judge righteously. We need to be careful when we point out sin in someone elses live and be sure we are walking in truth ourselves. :) I've enjoyed reading these posts. :) Here is a good link on "judgement": http://www.bigbluewave.ca/2009/04/judge-not-lest-ye-be-judged-real.html

It is so sad that things like this really happen. Being a Christian is about living a "different" life. We are to avoid partiality, watch our tongues, tell the truth, and NOT judge others. James 4:11-12 says "Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is ONE Lawgiver, who os able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?" Are we not all human? Do we not ALL have rocky patches in our lives? We are to be one body, accepting ALL who want to join.

  • 2011-12-02T16:54:20

I do see your point. We can by NO MEANS condone sin. As believers in the Body of Christ we cannot brush aside sin and pretend that we are all in this big loving "kumbaya" sort of spriritual thing. Yes, there is eternal judgement. And yes, Jesus did tell the woman at the well to go and sin no more. But at the same time he approached her when so many others wouldn't and he told her of living water. She was a samaritan... and most jews would never even speak to her. Much like the stripper at the beginning of this video... she was shuned and perhaps given a feeling of being "less than" the others. A follower of Christ should approach her in love. Then of course the message of the gospel and how after we believe we much repent of our sin.

  • 2011-12-02T16:45:30

Yes Annmarie..... however Jesus doesn't tell us never to judge..... but .... we better be careful and make sure when we do we are sharing God's truth in love and not condemnation. He tells us to judge righteously. For by the same measure that we judge others we will be judged. Ouch! First take the log out of your own eye before you talk about the speck in someone else's eye. For we are all a bunch of fifthly sinners saved only by the saving blood of Jesus Christ. So many people have been pushed away from the faith by other "Christians" who don't share an attitude of grace, love and forgiveness.

Ellen, how do you know I missed the point? Can God not speak to me differently then He speaks to you with the same media? Before I can to know Christ or rather to be known by Christ I lived a worldly life full of sinfulness, worse than anything on this video. I was trained to think like the world and to act like the world. To put it simply I was an agent for Satan. We need a renewing of the mind that can only be brought about by rejecting our former thoughts and beliefs and to replace them with God’s word. The world is always talking about feelings and emotions. I can tell you for sure that my feeling and emotions have been wrong most of my life. The one and only thing that I can use to determine truth is God’s word. This video stirs up emotions and feelings in people that can and will lead some of them to justify not belonging to a body of believers. We do not need to be divided but need to come together in unity of spirit and truth in the Lord Jesus the Christ.
