I just wanted to see if I could animate water, 'cause I'm thinking of doing a pirate cartoon. Its out of focus and I only have 4 FPS, but I think if you squint it can sort of remind you of a real wave. I can always do better next time.
The water is made out of a thin sheet of modeling clay over a sheet of plastic wrap and I got the wave by rolling a stick along under it. Actually I wound a paper towel around the stick as I rolled it forwards so the wave gets taller and taller as it goes along. The breaking wave was an artistic mass of partially mixed clay that I sort of made up as I went along.
The sound effect for the wave was made entirely out of popping soap bubbles, I used windows movie maker to add about six layers of sound. I mixed up a whole lot of soap bubbles in the sink, then set a paper towel on top in order to pop all the bubbles at once.
Maybe next I'll try to animate fire! Anyway, hope you like it! :-)
