Candace Cameron Bure And Julie Chen Moonves On How God Uses Our Rejections and Failures
Julie Chen Moonves appeared on Candace Cameron Bure’s podcast, where they discussed how God often uses our failures and stumbles to teach, redirect and mold us.
Failing at anything, no matter how many times it may happen, is never a fun experience. There will never be an instance when we stumble and fall and think, “That was a good time, let’s do that again.” However, God can and does use these times when we fall short as opportunities to teach and lead us into the correct and better direction and path.
The short clip begins with Julie talking about how she experienced early career failure and rejection for several years. It took her four years of constant rejection before she got an on-air reporting opportunity.
But instead of becoming bitter about her early career troubles, Julie believes God used that and every other time she has experienced hardship during her career for a purpose.
“You know, I feel like my whole career in life was dealing with rejection that was meant to be, that ended up landing me where on the path that God had already planned,” Julie said.
Candace added that during times of rejection and failure, we grow. It makes us stronger and builds character.
The short clip ends with Julie sharing words of wisdom told to her by a friend about God's response in times of rejection and failure.
“Someone said to me recently, ‘God has three answers: Yes, wait and instead of no, it’s I’ve got something better,”’ Julie said.
Rejection and failure will always be difficult. But as the ladies so astutely point out, failure is an opportunity for growth and a chance for God to work in our lives, directing and molding us into the person He wants us to be.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, said the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
