Grandfather's Heartwarming Response After Learning Grandson's Name

There are some moments worth recording. Check out a grandfather's heartwarming response in this video after learning his grandson's name.

At the start of this video, the baby’s mother proceeds to say to her parents, “You guys didn’t even ask what his name is.” As her father, the grandpa, holds this precious new little life, he jokes that he heard it was Snoop Dog. His daughter laughs and says the name, “Pierce Steven Parrot.” All of a sudden the father realizes that this sweet boy is named after him. He gets choked up and begins to cry tears of happiness. He cannot even respond because he is speechless, and he provides a thumbs up in response.

This video gives us all of the emotions that come with family and new life. It is adorable how this man has received the honor of having a child named after him. This is a unique gift that not everyone receives. The emotions overcome him and he is completely humbled and blessed. Witnessing this sweet experience causes us to feel as if we are almost in the room with them celebrating this name. Our hearts feel the depth of this decision to name this boy after the girl’s father. We are in awe.

Names carry special meanings and purposes. The Lord has given us new names in Him. We are adopted into His family. When we believe in Jesus, we are able to carry His name and honor Him. Imagine that this too could bring tears of joy like this grandpa to our Heavenly Father. It is our greatest blessing to carry the name of disciples of Jesus.

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17
