Sounds Like Reign Soul-Stirring 'Oh Christ Surround Me' Performance

Popular Christian family musical group Sounds Like Reign has given a soul-stirring and beautiful performance of the beloved tune “Oh Christ Surround Me.”

Life will beat you up, putting you through circumstances that will leave you battered and bruised. Sadly, these situations are, for the most part, unavoidable. Trying times and hardships have a way of finding and visiting everyone at one time or another. No one will get through this life unscathed.

However, even when enduring these painful and grief-filled situations, God is always near, by our side. He is a shelter during the storm, offering peace and comfort to those who call upon His name during their time of need.

During those times of great hurt, sorrow and confusion, Christians must cling to God and His promises the most. Sounds Like Reign masterfully performs “Oh Christ Surround Me.” It’s a tune that should be the prayer and desire of every Christian.

The lyrics are beautifully written, particularly the song’s opening verse.

“God be the love to search and keep me

God be the prayer to move my voice

God be the strength to now uphold me

Oh Christ, surround me”

Everyone's vocal performances in this short four-minute clip are noteworthy. They put their God-given musical gifts on full display for all to hear.

However, besides the spectacular vocal performances, the video’s setting is worth mentioning. The family performs in an empty house of worship whose stained-glass windows are expertly crafted and gorgeous.

We truly do not know what life will throw our way from one moment to the next. Things can and do change without any prior notice. But we can be assured that God will never change and will always remain by our side, especially in times of sorrow and uncertainty.

Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God is among you, as a strong savior: he will be glad over you with joy, he will make his love new again, he will make a song of joy over you as in the time of a holy feast.”
