In order to be accepted by God, there are some truths about reality that we must first accept. The first truth is that my sin is my responsibility. The image of the two thieves being crucified next to Christ is important to us because we are all thieves in some way and just as bad as these two. We may not think that we are as bad as criminals, but the only difference between these two men and everyone else is they were caught in the act of their sins.
