Jacob flees from his brother Esau and encounters the Lord's promises in a dream - Jacob later calls the place Bethel - Jacob meets Rachel at a well and finds his uncle Laban whom he works for for 14 years in return for two wives (one of which he did not want - Leah) - all in all, Jacob ends up with 13 children, 12 boys and 1 girl - Genesis 29-30
