(Starts slow, but ends with a punch!)
This song came to me while I was walking along the beach the day after my pastor, Scott McKay, had delivered a powerful sermon about the importance of making time for silence in our worship, so we can hear the voice of God. I thought I'd take a trip to the beach to have some 'quiet time' with the Lord. I took my dog, Buddy, with me, and turned him loose to chase the seagulls while I walked in the surf, listening for that 'still small voice'. Well...all I heard was the crashing of the waves, the roar of the wind, thunder from a distant storm, the seagulls laughing, and the barking of my dog! I had just about given up on finding any "silence" when this song popped into my head.
Although our sermon the day before ahd been about OUR silence, and taking the time to really listen for and to God, this song turned out to be about the times when HE chooses to be silent to us. God builds our faith in these times, if we choose to let him. I hope this song really makes you realize that God's Silence can be a comfort, not a punishment. He cares about us enough to strengthen us, even if it means not talking to us for awhile.

We learn about patience
