'Blessed Assurance' A Cappella Hymn From Kaoma Chende

The incredible a cappella voice of Kaoma Chende belts out the words to the iconic hymn ‘Blessed Assurance.’

This hymn was written in 1873 by Fanny Crosby who used music by Phoebe Knapp. Phoebe was visiting Fanny’s house one day when she played her a tune on the piano. Phoebe asked Fanny what it sounded like and Fanny replied, ‘Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine!’

They continued to finish the composition and give us the hymn that we all know and love today.

“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood."

Today, Kaoma is lending his voice to this iconic song and it is such a blessing to hear. Not only is this performance completely a cappella, but Kaoma sings each harmony too. Just one song can take hours upon hours to arrange and record. And this talented singer performs flawlessly every single time.

It’s so amazing to see this man use his God-given talent to give praise to His Name. These words remind us all that there is strength and power in the Name of the Lord.

“This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.”

Just like the lyrics say, until the end of our days, we will continue to lift up our voices in joyful praise to our King.
