Israel's water worries are over! The largest seawater desalination plant in the world has begun supplying the country with some 100 cubic meters of fresh water a year or roughly 15 percent of the total annual household water consumed in Israel. The plant was constructed just south of Ashkelon on the Mediterranean Sea and is the first of five planned over the next 4 years. With this project running, Israel has strengthened its position as a world leader in the field.
