Many of us who received the Lord in church were told at the altar, “You are saved” based on Romans 10:9. However, this scripture actually say, “you shall be saved.” Let's break that down. Yes, you have crossed from an unbeliever to a believer. This means you believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God, who died to pay the price for the sins of the world, and was raised again to secure your eternal life. And yes, you have an eternal assurance of God that you will not be judged, or receive the death penalty for sin. (See Romans 6:23) But please don't be deceived. Scripture is clear in saying you are required to endure, or continue following Jesus, to the end. It is not automatic. (See Matthew 24:13, Hebrews 3:6 & 14, 1 John 2:24-28) Over my years of evangelism, I've met persons who thought they needed only to be baptized to be saved, and some who thought it was their regular church attendance that would qualify them. However, Jesus calls our attention to the seriousness of the matter with the parables of the ten virgins, the faithful and wise servant, and the unprofitable servant. Unresolved trauma. Even persistent negative thought patterns can keep the body in a heightened inflammatory state. The good news? God designed our bodies to heal. Through restorative sleep, nourishing food, movement, and renewing our thoughts, we can support both brain and body health. Scripture said it first: “A heart at peace gives life to the body.” (Proverbs 14:30) Science is simply catching up. If you’ve been struggling lately, don’t just ask what’s wrong with you. Ask what your body might be trying to heal. Because sometimes, it’s not weakness. It’s inflammation.

God’s people were in spiritual decline, yet He promised comfort and renewal through His sovereignty and faithfulness.
