Christian Choir Sings 'I Saw One Weary'

The talented students of The Fountainview Academy bring new life to the classic hymn ‘I Saw One Weary.’ This stunning song was written by Annie Rebekah Smith in the late 1800s. It shares of message of looking to God no matter what obstacle may come our way.

“I saw one weary, sad, and torn,
With eager steps press on the way,
Who long the hallowed cross had borne,
Still looking for the promised day;”

The Fountainview Academy is a Christian high school located in Canada. And these choir students take their mission very seriously. On the school website, the music program aims for “reaching those who are searching for Christ through media, and music productions.”

For years, they’ve blessed us with beautiful covers of worship hits such as ‘The Old Rugged Cross’ and ‘Amazing Grace.’ Today, they’re taking on another classic with the beautiful words of ‘I Saw One Weary.’ While this is a lesser-known hymn, the inspiring words remind us to turn to God during times of fear or doubt.

“While many a line of grief and care,
Upon his brow, was furrowed there;
I asked what buoyed his spirits up,
O this! said he—the blessèd hope.”

2 Corinthians 3:2-3 “You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all. And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”
