Not Feeling His New Life Jacket

Feb 13 2026
My wife and I bring our "adventure kitty" with us wherever we go. We were planning on bringing him to the cabin up north on a lake for the 4th of July and thought that we should keep him safe while on the pontoon boat if he falls or jumps off. We purchased a small dog life jacket and when I went to test fit it, he stiffened up like a board and then slowly fell over with a thump as shown in the adorable and hilarious clip. Grumbling vs. Gratitude — The Danger of Attitude

Mar 20 2026
In today’s passage from Numbers 11:1-12:16, 33:17-36, and Deuteronomy 9:22, 24:8-9, 1:2, we witness a powerful lesson about gratitude, humility, and leadership. The Israelites had just seen God’s provision and protection in incredible ways, yet they complained and expressed ingratitude. They longed for the familiar instead of trusting the miraculous, and God’s anger was stirred. But Moses, the most humble man on the earth, steps in as a mediator, interceding for the people with a heart of love and compassion. We also see challenges closer to home—Moses’ own siblings, Miriam and Aaron, criticize him over a personal matter. Instead of defending himself, Moses remains silent, letting God’s authority handle the situation. His humility allows him to pray for those who oppose him, demonstrating one of the most profound examples of spiritual leadership in Scripture. God responds by restoring Miriam, providing meat for the Israelites, and teaching a vital lesson: true humility grows from being in God’s presence, and gratitude flows from a heart that trusts Him. As we reflect on these passages, we see that God’s provision, discipline, and restoration all point to His desire for His people to trust, obey, and walk in His presence.

“Teach us about righteousness.” Lord, show us when to speak and when to be still. When to move and when to wait on You. May we live faithfully, bringing You glory. Matthew 21:12–13 reminds us that Jesus acted boldly, yet always in alignment with the Father.
