Many people think that one cannot pray acceptably without many “Thou’s” and “Thee’s”, without a certain formal theological discussion at the beginning of the prayer, thanking God for Christ, and at the end of the prayer adding the stereotyped formula, “This we ask in Jesus’ name.”
