Psalm 119e - Heh - Turn My Eyes Away From Worthless Things
Section 5 of 22 set to music. All eight verses of this section of Psalm 119 begin with Heh (KJV: HE) the 5th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. - (High Resolution version available at zcpress.org/psalm 119)
This Psalm seems to recognize the tendency of the heart to go astray as the writer is pleading with God to direct his footsteps. - Turn my eyes TOWARD Your statutes and NOT toward SELFISH gain. Turn my eyes AWAY from WORTHLESS things. The last line is also significant - Preserve my life in YOUR righteousness.- We need the righteousness of God HIMSELF, not something of our own making that may look good to the religious eye, but eternally speaking, ends up being worthless, selfish gain.

A Prayer to Help You Comfort Others - Your Daily Prayer - April 25
Have you ever wondered if there is any purpose in your suffering? We certainly don’t go looking for suffering—it comes to us because life is a journey through difficulties and triumphs. Sufferings are a reminder of what Jesus Christ went through and it is a way for us to encourage others.
