2 Dogs Use Teamwork To Play Fetch

Watch these 2 dogs use teamwork to play fetch -- they’re so clever!

How many dogs does it take to fetch a ball? Apparently two! When one dog has a habit of dropping the ball a few feet away from its owner, the other swoops in to take it all the way to their person.

Hey -- whatever it takes!

The pups’ owner explains that the black Scottish Terrier normally lets the other dog get the ball because she can’t get there in time. But the other dog, who looks like a cattle dog mix, won’t bring the ball all the way back to her owner.

Does she drop it a few feet away because she thinks she’s funny? Or does she do it on purpose just so the stumpy-legged terrier can participate? Either way, I love it. After all, teamwork makes the dream work!

I’m sure their owner’s dream is to tire them out so they aren’t crazy inside!

The Scottie dog picks up the tennis ball right away and promptly drops it right by the owner’s feet. The owner says she gets all the credit since she’s the one that actually returns the ball.

I don’t know...I think they should both get plenty of treats and belly rubs. Their process is impressive!

After the cattle dog drops the ball, she immediately turns and walks away as if she’s saying, ‘My job is done here. Bye.’ The Scottie dog eagerly waits for the person to throw the ball again as if she’s going to go get it.

The funniest part -- the little Scottie dog does run all the way to where the ball is thrown while her sister picks it up. She also trails right beside her so she doesn’t miss where the ball drops.

It may take a little longer than your average round of fetch, but they’re all enjoying themselves anyway!

Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falls; for he has not another to help him up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
