Cotton Pickin' Kids Sing 'There Is A Time' Around The Campfire
Just when everyone thought picking and bluegrass were becoming a thing of the past, one family is bringing it back, and it’s taking the internet by storm. The band, “Cotton Pickin’ Kids” sing ‘There Is A Time’ around the campfire and it’s incredible.
The video opens with one of the youngest of the family singing the lyrics:
"There is a time for love and laughter
The days will pass like summer storms
The winter wind will follow after
But there is love and love is warm"
It’s soft and hauntingly beautiful as her siblings join in one by one on their instrument. What happens next? A cotton pickin’ good time impromptu around the campfire. Can life get any better than that? I think most would agree there’s nothing better than being surrounded by loved ones gathered around a fire for sure.
The Cotton Pickin Kids are a homeschool family living in Alabama who have a passion for music and want to share their talents with the world. The band consists of Elisabetta age 7, Giovanni age 9, Gianluca age 11, Rosalinda age 12, Cecilia age 14, Therese age 16, Savio age 17.
Each was taught to play various instruments at a young age, including the banjo, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, and guitar. They would often play for friends and family until they took the leap to play at social events and competitions.
During one occasion, a man asked Fabio Cipollori, “Papa” what was the name of his children’s band. Fabio responded they didn’t have one yet, to which the man responded, "Well those kids can sure pick a guitar just like I used to pick cotton when I was young," and that is how this group of blues grass playing kids got their name!
Not only do they love to play and perfect their music, but they also love filming too. They say the bloopers of their music videos are just as much their favorite part of making music besides performing and this video is no exception. Not only do they perform beautifully, they included the bloopers too. No wonder this video has garnered over 54,000 views and counting. WELL DONE Cotton Pickin’ Kids!
