Classic Winnie The Pooh Clip Reminds Us We're 'Stronger Than We Seem'

This classic Winnie the Pooh clip reminds us we’re ‘stronger than we seem,’ and I’m tearing up!

The original story of Winnie-the-Pooh was written in 1926 by English author A. A. Milne. He named the character after his son’s stuffed bear and based the character of Christopher Robin off of his son. For this book and others including Pooh, E. H. Shepard illustrated the iconic little bear and friends.

The rest of the loveable characters, including Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, and Tigger, were also toys of Christopher Milne. The original stuffed animals are actually on display at the New York Public Library. After all these years, they’re nowhere near as bright as the animations, but oh what a tale they tell!

Disney started adapting Milne’s bear tales in 1961, eventually creating the company’s most successful franchise. And now Pooh and his friends are timeless characters in so many households!

The video shows a scene from ‘Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search For Christopher Robin.” Christopher Robin tries to have a serious conversation about the possibility that the two of them may not always be together. Pooh Bear, just as goofy as I remembered, brushes it off and says, “As long as we're apart together, we shall certainly be fine!”

Pooh says he would be lost without him. But Christopher Robin shares some wise words we all need to hear from time to time.

“You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is even if we're apart, I'll always be with you. I'll always be with you. I'll always be with you!”

We all have those days when we feel lost and alone, whether our loved ones are with us or far away. Just as Christopher Robin believes in Pooh, God believes in us. He gives us the strength to get through every day and would not give us something that we are not strong enough to handle.

Fear you not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10
