Harry Connick Jr. Performs Gospel Medley On American Idol

Harry Connick Jr. is a one-man band as he performs a medley of songs from his album, Alone With My Faith, on American Idol.

For decades, Harry Connick Jr. has delighted audiences with his inspiring music and acting roles. But as COVID-19 hit, Harry was forced to remain at home. This allowed him a time of deep reflection and ample opportunity to work on his own pursuits. That’s when Harry decided to record his own album, titled ‘Alone With My Faith.’

From the vocals to the instruments, Harry put the majority of the album together at his home studio.

“Alone with my faith, what I know is true
What gives me assurance, when I don't know what to do
I don't have all the answers but I have always known
I'm eternally faithful so I am never alone”

Today, Harry is performing a medley of songs on American Idol’s Comeback night. And Harry is no stranger to American Idol. After appearing as a mentor on multiple seasons, Harry joined the judge’s table in Season 13 alongside Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban.

Now, he’s back on stage and he has brought along a host of instruments too. First, Harry starts off by singing ‘Alone With My Faith.’ Then, he transitions into a musical solo as he plays a range of instruments all on his own. Finally, he finishes the performance with a rousing rendition of ‘Give Me That Old-Time Religion.’

“Give me that old-time religion
Give me that old-time religion
Give me that old-time religion
Its' good enough for me!”

What an amazing gospel medley to watch on national television. Harry definitely brought the crowd to church!
