Gaither Vocal Band And Friends Perform Classic Hymns At The Dove Awards

In honor of the 50th anniversary of The Dove Awards, The Gaither Vocal Band and friends perform a beautiful medley of classic hymns.

The Gaither Vocal Band is a popular all-male southern ensemble. This group has been sharing their gospel music for decades. The band name comes from the founder and leader, Bill Gaither, who has written countless hymns and worship favorites.

Since 1981, this group has performed hundreds of beloved worship tunes and beautiful original songs all over the world. While some of the members have changed, the group still remains committed to spreading God’s message through music.

Today, we’re looking back at the 2019 GMA Dove Awards where the band performed a very special rendition of our favorite hymns including “He Touched Me,” “Something About That Name,” and “Because He Lives.” And to make this performance in more amazing, they are joined on stage by the vocal talents of Mark Lowry, David Phelps, Michael English, Bart Millard, Matt Maher, and Russ Taff.

Just listen as they gather together and belt out these hymns of love and praise for our King.

“Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living, just because He lives”

It’s hard to believe that 50 years has passed since Bill Gaither won his very first Dove award for Songwriter Of The Year. Hundreds of hymns later, Bill and Gloria Gaither have truly cemented themselves as two of the greatest voices in Christian music. What a blessing to hear this beautiful medley of songs that all honor His Holy Name.

Psalm 139:14 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
