'Color' Ellie Holcomb Official Music Video

Watch the official music video for Ellie Holcomb’s new single, ‘Color.’

Ellie Holcomb began her musical journey with Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. Drew and Ellie met in college and eventually married in ‘06. Her father is actually Brown Bannister, a well-known Christian music producer and songwriter. No wonder she chose a life of music!

Almost 10 years ago, Ellie began pursuing her solo music career and has released a few albums. She teams up with a bunch of other songwriters to write music. Recently, she wrote close to 60 songs for her new album, ‘Canyon.’

Lucky for us, ‘Color’ made the cut for the new album.

For her latest album, Ellie referenced the history of the Grand Canyon. It faced destruction and trauma time and time again, but the Colorado River flowed through it the entire time. The past year felt dark and hopeless with all of the hate and danger and found a spark of hope while camping along that river.

Almost all of the songs on the album follow that theme. ‘Color’ shows the beauty in every day life when God is by your side. She knows that in the darkest and most painful times, God’s light will lift us up. The lyrics of ‘Color’ are beautifully poetic and express what life can be like with faith.

In the stained glass church of ordinary life
I’m surrendered, I am baptized
I can hold you like a dandelion
Cause this world is made of color

Shot in front of a mountain landscape, the music video just adds beauty to the poetically beautiful song. She didn’t make a huge spectacle for the video but focused on the natural beauty of the world God created.

But they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
