One airline goes ‘to infinity and beyond’ in order to reunite a lost toy with a 2-year-old passenger. You’ve got to check out this heartwarming story!

It all started when Cody and Ashley Davis were on a Southwest airlines flight heading to Texas for a funeral with their 2-year-old son, Hagen. And their flight had them stopping at the Clinton Airport in Little Rock, Arkansas for a layover.

Now, we all know that traveling can be stressful, especially with kids. And it is easy to forget or misplace things in transit.

“It was very hectic. It was a very hectic trip, jumping on a plane with a 2-year-old,” said Cody Davis, Hagen’s father.

“I really didn’t do my due diligence as a mom to triple check that everything was with us,” shared Ashley Davis, Hagen’s mom. “He was frantically asking ‘Where’s Buzz? Where’s Buzz?’ And Buzz wasn’t in the backpack. Buzz was still on the plane.”

That is when Beth Buchanan, a Southwest Airlines employee got involved.

“I always go through the plane to make sure that no one has left anything,” Beth explained. “Now we all know people leave things every day. So, I was going down and I looked over at this seat and there’s Buzz all by himself. So, I took it downstairs and I’m going ‘How do I get this back to his little buddy?’”

Another Southwest Airlines employee, Jason Hamm, got in on the hunt for Buzz’s owner.

“I walked into operations and Beth was sitting at the computer with a Buzz Lightyear doll right next to her,” said Jason. “And I looked at it and asked ‘Well, whose is that?’ And she says, ‘I don’t know, it just has Hagen written on the bottom of the foot.’”

The two of them were able to track down the Davis family and get their information, but before they sent back Buzz, Jason took him on a little adventure around the airport and documented it with photos.

“It would be a really cool thing to do to text these photos to whoever’s owner it was. That way they would have something to show their child when they found it,” shared Jason.

Jason also wrote out a letter to Hagen from the point of view of Buzz Lightyear, explaining how nice of a visit he had in Little Rock. And once the family received Buzz Lightyear back in the mail, Ashley read the letter to Hagen.

“To commander Hagen, I’m very excited to return to you upon completing my mission. I was able to explore the airport and space court in Little Rock, Arkansas while I was away, and I’ve included photos of my adventure. My journey has taught me a lot, but I am so thankful to return to my buddy. To infinity and beyond! Your buddy, Buzz Lightyear”

What a sweet way to be reunited with his toy!
“Seeing him holding little Buzz, it just melts my heart,” shared Beth. “I’m just so glad that we got Buzz back to him.”

What a true act of kindness from these two Southwest Airlines employees. God bless them for doing something so sweet for this little boy!
