Becoming parents ushers couples into a new season of love. Their bond grows along with her belly in anticipation of creating a new family. But for some wives, especially military wives, they know their husbands could get the call—the call that says, they are going to be deployed.

Even with today’s technology of Facetime and Zoom, it does little to ease the ache of missing the presence of your partner as you do life without him.

Sometimes doing life without your partner is just the routine things of living. Going to work, completing house projects, visiting friends, and going to church. But sometimes, it means your soldier husband is missing out on the big things too. Big moments like ultrasound appointments to get a peek at the baby, or finding out if it is a boy or girl, or sometimes missing the birth altogether. But the father in this video could not miss another moment. As soon as he was off active duty, he rushed to the hospital to see the love of his life because she had given birth without her husband.

As his wife was being discharged after giving birth to their third baby, he surprised her at the hospital. After she came out to give friends and family hugs, her husband was waiting for the crowd to give their congratulations before walking up behind her to surprise her. The moment she turns to him, time stops for this couple as an unspoken conversation is communicated through their embrace. She cannot believe he’s home and in her arms. Finally, she lets go so he can meet his new son.
