4-Year-Old With Cerebral Palsy Takes First Steps

There is truly nothing sweeter than when your child is learning new things. When you see the world through a child’s eyes, you realize that they are experiencing everything for the very first time. They have such innocence and wonder about them. Everything in the world around them is a whole new experience and they are loving every minute of it.

That is exactly what is happening with this sweet girl. This little darling is 4 years and 10 months old. She had Cerebral Palsy, so some of her developmental skills are delayed. But today, she is crossing a big milestone as she walks for the very first time.

Just watch as she stands up and the biggest smile comes across her face. Then, she takes one step after another and the grin and laughter gets even bigger. I just love when she yells out in excitement, “I’m walking!” This little sweetie is so excited and her joy is truly contagious. How can you not smile when you see her face as she takes those steps. This is such a good reminder that every milestone is precious and things that we take for granted each day as adults, make the biggest difference in a child’s life.

I’m just so glad that someone was able to record this big moment. I know her parents are going to cherish this moment for a lifetime. My heart definitely needed to see something like this today. Who else is smiling so big right now?
