5th Grader Takes a Stand Against Bullying

In this heartbreaking video, a tearful 5th grader sits across from 8 school board members to plead for help over a situation going on in her school. The young girl, Delanie Marcotte of Pollard Elementary School in New Hampshire, explained that bullying had gotten out of hand.

She didn't know how to fix the problem, and asked for the board's help. “I have been threatened to get shot in the head by an AK-47 and buried in my backyard and many other things,” poor Delanie shared. She explained that she absolutely dreads going to school now because of her tormentors and her fear of them. "They call me names, threaten me, kick me, trip me." Delanie said.

Delanie and her parents addressed the severe bullying with Delanie's school, but the problem continued. "I have been asked by the mother of my bully during a school field trip why I tried to get her son in trouble." Delanie shockingly shared. That's when her family decided to go to the school board to try to get help. Her parents were planning on doing the talking, but this brave young girl decided she wanted to stand up for herself! “I’m here to talk about a problem that means a lot to me. Bullying. Bullying is a problem at our school and I am a victim of it,” Delanie said.

After this composed young lady finished speaking out against bullying, the impressed school board members applauded her! What a terrible problem to have to endure, but what an amazing display of bravery this young girl showed!
