One waitress becomes a hero when she uses a secret message to save a boy from alleged child abuse. It was on New Year’s day when Flaviane Carvalho, a restaurant manager, assumed her shift would be like any other. She would give the best possible service to customers at her assigned tables. Police found bruises on his face, earlobes, and arms. Later, a detective on the case stated the torture and abuse doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what this child went through. The young boy is also being hailed as a hero. When Flaviane learned more about the situation, she said, “The little boy was so brave. He not only saved himself, he saved his little sister by standing up to this man. I am so proud of him. He is the hero.” Because of her efforts, a GoFundMe page was created for Flaviane who is a mom of two. More than $40,000 in donations have been made and she plans to use it on debt accumulated during the COVID-19 shutdown.
