2 Teens Sing 'I Can Only Imagine' Duet

Have you thought about what it will be like when you meet God face to face one day? Will you fall down on your knees? Will you sing and dance? Will you have this insurmountable need to worship? The Worship song, ‘I Can Only Imagine’ by MercyMe gives us an idea of what those first few moments might be like and two teens share in the wonder of heaven singing this song as a duet.

The song, ‘I Can Only Imagine’ was written by Bart Millard, the lead singer of MercyMe. Bart wrote the song in about ten minutes. When he was asked about the process to the lyrics of this song, he said it felt like he was a spectator of the song being written.

The phrase, “I can only imagine” came to him over and over again. So, Bart sat down to write the song which was based on his father’s death from cancer. Before his father died, he kept assuring Bart, he was going to a better place. The song then took on a life of its own as it spoke to the heart of every believer imagining what that glorious day will be like.

The song became a staple in worship songs for churches around the world and has become a beautiful cover song for young, aspiring singers like the pair in this incredible video.

Listen to Easton Shane and Hallie Taylor, both of One Voice Children’s Choir, sing a beautiful duet of the hit Christian Song. Easton said this song is one of his favorites and he is grateful for the opportunity to inspire others through music. His duet partner Hallie feels the same way.

The soulful acoustic arrangement features Easton’s signature guitar style while blending layers of acoustic guitars to create a unique sound combined with his voice and Hallie’s.

The video opens to both teens standing in a gym, surrounded by hundreds of little flames. But the part of that video that gives the lyrics a deeper dimension is the dance moves of Emry Wride.

Her soulful moves add so much depth that it moves one to tears. What an incredible act of faith to witness in the lives of these teens.

“Once more they cried out, “Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up forever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who was seated on the throne, saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!” Revelation 19:3-4
