1 Man Uses Dual Voices To Sing 'The Prayer' Duet

Imagine performing both parts of a song at once. This includes the full range of vocals from high to low. Not possible right? It is! One man used dual voices to sing, “The Prayer” as a duet. How, might you ask? Through a lot of passion, talent, and a little bit of technology.

Chris Mann is no stranger to the spotlight. He has been singing since he was a little tyke and pursued it as he grew up. After graduating from Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music in 2004, his vocals took him to Europe where he was cast in an Italian Opera. He eventually made it to the big screen in the United States in an episode of Glee. But his career was officially launched when he appeared on The Voice, ultimately placing fourth.

Today he is an incredible singer, songwriter, actor, and comedian but his first love is music. And just for fun, he decided to record both parts of the duet song. Originally sung by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, one would scoff at the idea he could hit the octave range that Celine Dion has. But he did!

‘The Prayer’ is hugely popular with choirs and cover artists, because of its gorgeous melody. It’s a prayer asking for God to be our eyes, to guide us and help us be wise. Yet, Chris managed to bring the song to life all by himself.

One listener commented, “I think Chris should be awarded entertainer of the year for all his work in 2020 to bring joy to this crazy time.” While another added, “So, I see that Chris hasn't left any more talent for any of us, he has found it all and is clearly hoarding it all by himself. This is incredible.”

“I love singing this song so much...I decided to just sing the whole dang thing myself,” he posted below his video. The result? A beautiful melody hitting all the notes with perfect precision. Once he recorded both parts of the song, he then spliced the videos together. It’s incredible that both parts are so well done and perfectly matched.

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2-4.
