'Farther Along' Live Performance By The Petersens

In this uplifting video, the Petersens perform the gospel song ‘Farther Along.’

“Sometimes I wonder why I must suffer, go in the rain, the cold, and the snow,
When there are many living in comfort, giving no heed to all I can do.
Farther along we’ll know more about it, farther along we’ll understand why;
Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine, we’ll understand it all by and by.”

This song was written by W.B. Stevens and published in 1911. And what a wonderful performance of this song by such talented musicians!

The Petersens are an American roots music band based out of Branson, MO. The band consists of four siblings (Katie, Ellen, Matt, and Julianne), their mom, Karen, and friend, Emmett Franz. These talented individuals make such a sweet and joyful noise as they praise the Lord!

“You guys are world class, all of you, not just your beautiful singing and perfect harmonies, but instrumentally too,” comments one person on YouTube. “I don't remember hearing a finer dobro player, whose beautifully tasteful interwoven phrases and solos compliment every song. Thank you so much for cheering up the world!”

“Maybe, ‘farther along’--after these tough times, ‘we'll know all about it’—'we'll understand it, oh, by and by.’ The lyrics of this song are so appropriate these days,” writes another person on YouTube. “Thank you for the song today, Petersens.”

May this lovely performance uplift you and bring some joy and peace to your day!

2 Corinthians 12:9-10
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
