Senior Choir Sings 'A Change Is Gonna Come' With Chicago Children's Choir

The Young At Heart Chorus joins forces with the Chicago Children’s Choir for a performance of Sam Cooke’s ‘A Change Is Gonna Come.’

Over the years, this elderly choir has torn down stereotypes about aging and the entertainment industry. Today, they are bridging the gap between generations with this remarkable concert.

“I was born by the river in a little tent
Oh and just like the river I've been running ev'r since
It's been a long time, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will”

On their website, Young At Heart (styled Young@Heart) describes themselves perfectly. “The Young@Heart Chorus strives to present a positive image of aging through music. Born of a belief that the often-marginalized elderly can make great contributions to art, we perform songs not commonly sung by older people to build bridges between communities and create shared musical experiences for young and old alike. Young@Heart works to show that age is never a barrier to making great music, and that no life circumstance should act as a barrier to participating in or enjoying it.”

This incredible performance of ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’ showcases the beauty by bringing together two different generations. The Chicago Children’s Choir adds a beautiful touch to this stunning concert.

“It's been too hard living, but I'm afraid to die
'Cause I don't know what's up there, beyond the sky
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will”

This is just another example that age is just a number. Who else agrees?
