The Kendrick Brothers are the talent behind the 2015 megahit, ‘War Room.’ Now, they are back with another inspirational film that truly challenges us to look deeper at our own spiritual lives.

Over the years, Alex, Stephen, and Shannon Kendrick have brought us movies such as ‘Fireproof’ ‘Courageous’ and ‘Facing The Giants.’ Together, these brothers have made it their mission to share the Gospel through film and media.

This fall, their latest faith-based film ‘Overcomer’ will be released in theaters all over the nation. Alex Kendrick stars as the title character, John Harrison.

This powerful film tells the story of a high school basketball coach who is thrown a curveball when he loses most of his players after an area plant closes and families move away.

Coach John Harrison is forced to take over the cross-country track team that currently has only one member. After expressing his displeasure to the principal, John argues saying, “Why have a season with one runner?” That’s when the principal responds in the best way possible. “Because one runner matters.”

Together, this unlikely pair share a journey of faith and encouragement that changes both of their lives forever. ‘Overcomer’ is set to hit theaters on August 23, 2019.
