Ask? Ask for What?

Ask? Ask for What?

We try a new restaurant, read a new book, see a new movie, listen to a new song—and if it moves us, we want to share our discovery with someone else. It's what we do. The instinct to share is what drives social media. It is an undeniable instinct. God has hard‐wired us to want to share life with others. And God is the ultimate One to share our lives with.

But it is unnatural to share anything with God other than our troubles. While it is natural to want to share life with other people, there's nothing natural about wanting to share life with God.
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:9–13 NKJV)
Ask? Ask for what?
Ask for the very presence of God. Ask for the Holy Spirit. Ask for the things of God. Ask for the mind of Christ. Ask for the works of God. Ask for the revelation of His Word. Ask for the ears to hear what He's saying. Ask for the eyes to see what He's doing. In other words—ask for God.
Step into life and ask for God. Share your life w
