On first impression, the title and the concepts conveyed in the track may appear to insinuate a push for suicide. This idea can’t be more disconnected to the intent of the message.

Rather, the lyrical notion is inspired by the reality of the ‘reborn’ experience, which the Bible asserts can only transpire when one dies to ‘self’. The concept of self in the Bible is directly linked to what our ‘ego’ in actual fact represents, the defiant stance that despises God’s sovereign rule over one’s life. Jesus stated very clearly, that no individual born of flesh could ever enter heaven except through death of the flesh (ego), leading to a reborn experience in the spirit, and through this, united to God (John 3:3-7). This indeed is the essence of the Good News! Therefore, dying to ‘self’ is essentially, becoming alive in Christ Jesus (Galatians 2:20). Selah!
